Financial Services and Transaction Tax Manager to Hoist Finance Are you looking for a new challenge in the role of an in-house Tax Manager with a very good career opportunity in the financial industry? Our customer Hoist Finance is looking for a Financial Services and Transaction Tax Manager for the head office in Stockholm with a strong track record of experience in the financial industry. Group Tax currently consists of four tax specialists who cover a larger geographic area and support the business with a variety of tax matters. At Hoist Finance, you will work in a global environment, both with internal and external counterparties.

About the job

With the job, you will get a very good insight into how the credit finance market operates, partly from the investment prospects and the acquisition of the credit portfolio, partly from the Hoist financing model, partly from the management of the credit portfolio. What is also expected, is the further improvement of the current team’s credit and finance market business knowledge and processes. You will get to work closely with the business operations and the investment team both when acquiring credit portfolios or entering new markets. We also collaborate with compliance, risk, legal, accounting, internal banking and other important staff functions. You will be part of Group Tax who work to solve complex challenges in our field. You report to the Head of Tax who in turn reports to the CFO.

Mainly your duties

  • Become part of an international organization and work with challenging issues in the tax field in a rapidly developing industry with a predominant (but not limited to) focus on transfer pricing;
  • Further develop and refine the Group’s processes and operational aspect of transfer pricing and VAT, including the further digitation of processes;
  • Support and advise the organization on issues related to transfer pricing, ranging from invoicing procedures to M&A projects;
  • Follow legal developments in the area of transfer pricing and increase the Group’s awareness of tax-related aspects typical for the financial industry, inc. transfer pricing;
  • Manage contacts with tax authorities in various jurisdictions; Experience with managing relations with Swedish tax authorities and administrative courts is of high importance for Hoist;
  • Assist in the process of determining the Group’s transfer pricing in i.a. MAP and APA;
  • You will also work in projects/transactions where you are expected to cover TP, Corporate Income Tax and VAT matters;
  • Frequent business travelling might be expected from you;

Who are you?

We are looking for you with an academic background as a lawyer or economist who has at least seven years of practical work experience from working with tax & VAT matters. You likely have a background from one of the larger accounting or advisory firms. It is a strong advantage if you have worked practically with tax related issues in-house in banking or financial asset management. Very good knowledge of both Swedish and English is a requirement. An additional advantage would be experience in accounting of financial institutions. As a person, you are results-driven, initiative-taking, humble, communicative, pragmatic and responsible. To succeed in this role, you are a strong relationship builder with a good ability to handle many different stakeholders both internally and externally. Furthermore, you are a good team player while being able to drive and own your issues independently.

  • Academic education in law or economics;
  • At least 7 years of experience in taxes, including positions directly connected to the transfer pricing area;
  • Ability to work independently yet be a team player with good interpersonal skills;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to get things done;
  • Very good spoken and written English and Swedish skills;
