Senior Privacy Legal Counsel at Teamtailor

We are now looking for a Senior Privacy Legal Counsel who wants to take full responsibility for our data protection efforts and become a key person in our legal function.

Teamtailor is one of Sweden’s fastest-growing SaaS companies with a clear goal: to transform how companies attract and hire talent. We are in a rapid growth phase, where new markets, more complex business models, and increasing regulatory demands place greater importance on strong privacy governance.

What we offer

This is an opportunity for you to take clear ownership of privacy at a global tech company with high ambitions and fast decision-making. As Senior Privacy Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for the company’s entire privacy governance framework, including the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO), and become the obvious point of contact for all data protection matters – internally, externally, and with regulatory authorities. You’ll work closely with operations, product development, and management in an environment that values pragmatism, curiosity, and collaboration.

At Teamtailor, privacy is not a support function – it is a business-critical part of our product and offering. You will be the hub of our work with GDPR, ePrivacy, and future AI legislation, while having broad autonomy to develop policies, processes, and structures at your discretion. Here, you will combine independence with support from an engaged legal team and an organization open to change.

About the role

As Senior Privacy Legal Counsel, you play a central role in ensuring Teamtailor conducts business-aligned and regulation-compliant data protection. You will be responsible for the company’s overall privacy governance and act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO). The role is the hub for all data protection compliance within the group and includes end-to-end responsibility for GDPR, the ePrivacy directive, upcoming AI legislation, and other applicable regulations.

You will act as an internal expert and the primary point of contact for all privacy-related matters – internally, with customers and candidates, and in communications with supervisory authorities. A key part of the role is working closely with product development and contributing to integrating data protection into development processes (privacy by design).

You will review and monitor data processing throughout the organization, identify and document processing activities, and lead efforts related to DPIAs, TIAs, and other risk assessments. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining up-to-date and relevant policies, guidelines, and records.

Additionally, the role includes conducting trainings, supporting business on privacy-related matters – for example, in RFP processes – and acting as an advisor in escalations. It is a role that combines operational presence with strategic impact, in an international environment where privacy is a natural part of both product and business.

About you

We are looking for someone with a law degree and 4–6 years of legal work experience, at least three of which with a clear focus on data protection matters. You have solid knowledge of GDPR and the ePrivacy directive and stay up to date on the development of AI-related legislation. Experience working in a tech company and/or combining advisory work with responsibility for governance and structure is highly meritorious.

You are pragmatic and solution-oriented – you understand the purpose of the legislation but can also make reasonable trade-offs in a business context. You work independently but enjoy collaborating – especially closely with product, tech, and business teams. You like taking responsibility, creating structure, and driving initiatives forward. The role also requires the ability to switch between detailed focus and strategic overview – and to explain complex issues clearly and relevantly across different parts of the organization.
